I know my posts can get quite long sometimes and I'm not quite sure that it's optimum for the reader. I do consciously try to shorten it, but sometimes I just can't do it. So cheong hei...sigh. Okay this post is likely to be long again but in my attempt to be concise, I'll have 3 points. (sounds familiar, CJCians? :)
1) Old Trafford was great. When I caught a mere glimpse of the stadium through one of the openings, I was already in awe. So can you imagine what it was like when I saw the whole pitch? My gosh. And at one point, Cristiano Ronaldo (and others) were but 10 metres from me. To add to all that, I saw FIVE goals, though all 4 Man U goals weren't spectacular, but for once, "who cares?" It was so surreal I tell you, coz within 20 hours, I moved from London to Manchester, watched a match, and was back. But it was darn tiring the next day coz I had my fullest day ever - great timing I tell you. BUT, it was all worth it.
2) I had a tutorial for the geog exchange students yesterday at 5pm. Our tutorial turned out to be more of a session of making sure we were all coping fine and that things were alright on our side. Well, the 'tutorial' ended up in a pub (the cheapest pub in the area) and our tutor bought us our 1st drinks. Only a few of us went though, but he's a reallly nice guy and so we bought him his 2nd drink. I had 2 pints, and we headed to dinner after that. This is so British - beer before meals.
3) I just came back from the opera. Yes, you read it right, OPERA. We got tickets for 'Don Giovanni' at a low cost of £5 - special student rate coz one of my friends signed up for sthg. The music was great, I loved it. But the opera itself was a little disappointing - coz it was too modern an interpretation for me, and it was in English, which kind of de-valued it a little. At least to me. Because of the nature of the English language (unlike say Italian), many sounds are harsher than what they would be in another language. And of course, the original opera was not in English and therefore the translation would be somewhat off. So yes, that part was a little let down, but still, I really did enjoy the orchestra.
Evil twin kindly mentioned that I have not said much abt sch...haha...I wonder why. Okay but here's 2 cents of it - my essays are MEGA PILING UP. And, I am really getting a little worried about how I'm gonna balance work and play. Hmm...the physical geog mod especially, I'm a little concerned. Mum and dad, if you're reading this don't worry, I'll do whatever it takes to pass. *crosses fingers*. Alright, I realised this is the 4th point. Ah well, at least there wasn't a 5th and 6th unlike...*grinz*
(I'm so mean...)
